In all our production this is certainly the most versatile wine, deriving from the piedmont and hillside vineyards of Montepulciano, where the temperature changes, the exposure and the right harvest time make this wine express a good acidity and, at the same time, a structure worthy of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Every year our greatest effort is to select the most suitable grapes for the production of Cerasuolo, distinguishing them from those that will later be chosen for red vinification. In 2010 Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo was the first rosé wine to be recognized as a DOC (Controlled Designation of Origin). To the eye, Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo presents very intense and bright cherry pink shades. On the palate, however, its fruity and spicy notes are appreciable with a structure approaching the one of a red. The nose shows delicate notes of raspberry, pomegranate, cherry, geranium and carnation, with a delicately spicy undertone.
Matchings: grilled white meats, medium-aged cheese, shellfish, and – why not – even vegetables. A companion to a thousand events, it can be with us throughout the year, from the warm days spent in the summer sun to the rosy sunsets of autumn.
Serving temperature: 8-10 degrees
